Welcome to Wonsa,
where wonsa isn't about perfection,
it's it’s about understanding.

Meet our founder - Gita Rajan

Our work is about creating a new way forward — one built on knowledge, compassion and a deeper understanding of sexual abuse injury.

Sexual violence occurs throughout society — in homes, workplaces, relationships and communities. For those affected by sexual abuse, the consequences can be complex and long-lasting.

WONSA exists to gather, develop and share knowledge that creates a new way forward.

Through survivor experience, clinical practice and research, we work to change how sexual-abuse injuries are understood and treated.

WONSA is a foundation and research clinic dedicated to developing and spreading knowledge that facilitates healing from sexual abuse. Our work brings together survivors, clinicians and researchers to create meaningful change.
At WONSA, we have developed a new framework for treating sexual trauma. It is based on over ten years of clinical experience, research, and countless testimonies from survivors. Our unique tools within the framework address the root cause, define levels of injuries and goes beyond symptoms. The framework fills critical gaps in knowledge minimizing suicidality, wrong treatments, or no care at all.

80% of our patients have experienced unsuccessful treatments, and many have been labelled treatment resistant before coming to WONSA. Patients report they have felt blamed, shamed and stigmatized for the unsuccess of the treatment offered.

We have seen this pattern before in healthcare, as with cancer, tuberculosis, leprosy and epilepsy. Today treatment is available and the stigma is gone. This will be true in the field of sexual trauma too.

Whether you are a psychiatrist, researcher, therapist, relative – or someone who has experienced abuse yoursel

– you are warmly welcome to join the mission to reform healthcare for sexual abuse survivors.
